10 Things to Do with Your Leftover Pizza
Did you find yourself ordering pizza again for dinner last night? Yum! But what are you going to do with those leftovers? While some people enjoy a cold slice for breakfast you have a lot more options than you think you do for all that leftover pie sitting in your fridge. Choose one of these methods to reheat your pizza and finish it off or to make an entirely new meal!
Microwaved
Need a fast, simple way to eat leftover pizza? Microwave it. But to ensure you don’t get soggy, greasy, or gooey leftover pizza, use our hack! When you microwave your pizza, put a microwave-safe glass (or mug) of water in the microwave with it. It will keep your crust from getting soggy and will reinvent your pizza in a delicious way.
On the Skillet
Don’t want microwaved pizza? Cooking your leftover pizza on the skillet is nearly as quick and simple as microwaving a pizza—but gives you a crunchier crust. Place your pizza in a large enough pan that it sits flat and cook on medium heat with a lid or piece of foil. For even crunchier crust, add a few teaspoons of water to cook the crust in. Viola!
Made into Waffles
This is an easy —and genius—way to eat leftover pizza. Fold your pizza slice in half, put it in the waffle iron, and wait for your brand-new pizza waffle. Yes, really. Dip it in some delicious marinara if your slice tastes too dry.
The Ultimate Grilled Cheese
This is one of our favorite ways to make leftover pizza into an incredible new meal that you won’t soon forget. Take two slices of leftover pizza and put them facing into each other, cheese touching cheese. For some extra cheesy-goodness, add your favorite shredded blend between the two slices. Cook over a stove-top or in a panini press.
Breakfast Egg Scramble
Want your pizza for breakfast the next morning? Add some protein to your pizza and make an egg scramble. Simply pull apart or cut a pizza slice into 1/2” pieces and add them into your usual scrambled egg recipe.
Mozzarella Sticks
Want a completely new dish with your leftover pizza? Mozzarella sticks + pizza is the perfect combination! Take your pizza slices and roll them around a frozen mozzarella stick. Bake at 350 degrees until your cheese is melted. Dip in marinara sauce and enjoy!
Pizza Fries
Last but not least, this pizza hack makes us want to order pizza right now just to have the leftovers! Start by cutting your pizza into strips. Lie them on a baking sheet, cover with your favorite shredded cheese, and then bake them at 350 degrees until they’re crispy—about 15 minutes. You can serve pizza fries a variety of dipping sauces to make them more interesting, too. Marinara, ranch, hot sauce, honey mustard…whatever your heart desires!
We know all of these options sound delicious, so the more leftover pizza you have to experiment with, the better! Which is why you should stop by Sam & Louie’s on your way home!
